Just realized that I've started a new tradition of blogging about the 5 kernels the past 5-6 years. In a way, it helps with the Looking Back posts.... but it also detracts from it. So with that... I'm going to leverage this post to add 5 things that won't make it onto the Looking Back top 10 and keep it to my 2018 criteria:

1) I wake up (almost) every day with the love of my life
2) The two kids... continue to be best of friends
3) NV has taken us in and adopted us
4) In spite of all the hate... it's still the best place to live
